Why 10.10.2010?
Our wedding date was chosen for a lot of reasons. It was far enough away from our engagement to allow us to be prepared for our wedding. It took place on a weekend which means that it would be more likely free for our family. The weather in Florida is nice at that time, or acceptable at least, depending on who you talk to. Mainly though, we chose the date immediately after Sheila realized that 10.10.10 was binary for the number 42. Since both of us work work in digital fields and computers at their most basic level communicate in binary, this seemed particularly awesome. As you might already know, in certain circles 42 is regarded as the “Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything” and is therefore a pretty lucky date to get married on. Neither of us are particularly superstitious, but this was a clear sign from the powers that be.
